This piece attempts to paint a big picture of what our existence is; in Him.
After giving my life to Christ, I was fortunate to be planted in a place that aides growth (Koinonia).
At first, my focus was to initiate as many as possible into the same experience I had just come into…
But with the exposure through the teachings I had, I realized Salvation was a means to an end; not the end itself.

And God made my conversion experience entail supernatural experiences that further solidified my conviction. I knew God wasn’t abstract.
This is why I could afford to leave all to follow Jesus; burning the bridge behind. It actually was either God or I’d lose everything…
The very least I could do was pour all of me on Him.
What would I lose anyway?

This began my search for the Reality of God.
Then, I stumbled across a Scripture;
Exodus 24:10 KJV
And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.
Was it actually possible to see God? With the more in-depth research I engaged in, the more questions I had.
Since I didn’t have any prior knowledge in theology, in a way, I was unlimited in my mind as I studied.
My question: What is my idea of God?
A Creator who wants to salvage the earth and decided to open a gateway: Salvation for all of us to escape through?

This became my assertion:
God is a Boss (thank God for action movies), as I like to say sometimes. He has got all things in control. For everything in existence, is a purpose assigned. Everything is created upon demand and a need.
There is no shadow of turning, darkness, vagueness, confusion or obscurity in Him.
He made man, to be His extension on earth.
For everything He desires to see replicated in the earth, He does it through the earth (man).
And remember my last post, the Presence of God in anything is what gives it value.
The only reason we can be anything in the earth, is because we have Him within us.
This isn’t some religious cliché.
Genesis 1:26 KJV
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
The original mandate which has been restored in Jesus is to be gods upon the earth; doing the same thing…as it is, in Heaven.
With God in us, we are His vessels; His hands, mouth, ears…on the earth.

No wonder He is so mindful of us!
An understanding of how God sees you, and why Jesus suffered and endured all He had to, on His journey to the cross opened me up to the fact that God isn’t joking in anyway with me.

He wants all of my attention!
I know I have got family challenges, probably academic issues, financial needs, relational difficulties and all…but PAUSE!
…The Creator of the world wants my attention.
This baffled me a whole lot for a long time.
I have not gotten to the full comprehension of why He loves me this much, to do all He had and still is doing; for me. Then, to come live permanently in me…it’s too much.
It always has this overwhelming effect on me.
And ever since, nothing became too much or too little to do for Him.

Since, I have His heart, I gave Him mine; and chose to carry His intentionally.
Our standpoint and foundation of Dominion in the earth is Love. First, for Him, and then, for the people He made.
For every job, every course, the marriage I’d have, every child I’d bear, every reward, publicity and all I’d ever have and become will all be because I love Him.

I hope this liberates someone:
My service onto God is a choice.
My entire life is summed up in Discovering the heartbeat of God, and fulfilling it.
God is not any more or less God because of our service.
But He is pleased because we do it willingly, with our hearts. He is more concerned about why we do it, than how.

Your bid to discover purpose in God will be unveiled in Friendship with Him.
I will end in Bill Johnson’s words:
Be still and experience God.
Sometimes, I will take just a few minutes in the middle of a workday for His pleasure. I get before the Lord and say something to this effect, “God, I’m here, but I’m not going to ask for anything or perform in any way for You. I’m just going to sit here simply as an object of Your love and let You love me”.
Not doing stuff is sometimes hard. But sometimes, when I enter that place of rest, I get a picture of Him pouring a honey-colored oil all over me as a symbol of His love.
It’s an overwhelming picture of drowning in His love. Some thing wonderful begins to happen as He awakens every part of my life to His Presence.

Will you try this?
